Personalization is one of the cool features in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You can personalize almost any screen in Dynamics 365 Business Central, including your homepage, the listing screen (a purchase order listing, transaction listing, etc.) and the data entry screen (purchase invoice, G/L screen, etc.). With personalization you can change pages and lists to display what you need, when you need it to work more efficiently. It only impacts your screen and no other users.
To personalize, click on Settings >Personalize.
With personalize, you can move, hide or add fields, columns navigation panes and actions.
For example, if you are never going to use a field, you can hide it. If you know there’s a field in purchase order that is not showing up, you can add that to the screen. You can move fields around based on your liking to enter data with fewer clicks as possible. There are options like ‘Show when Collapsed’ or ‘Show under Show more’. If a field is not that important to you, you can put it under Show under ‘Show more’. For a quick demo, watch the video below.
Once you are done customizing, click on Done.
Remember, personalization is not really customization. You are not changing code, and so you don’t need to worry about breaking anything.
